Stories & Testimonies
The biggest blessing for us is to read what a Bible does to transform someones life. Over the last few years we have heard many testimonies about how God's Word has changed not only individuals but whole communities. Churches are planted, Bible studies are created and righteous habits are forming daily for those who have access t their own scripture.
Elder Yesero Mugasa
Elder Yesero Mugasa is 73 years old and last owned a bible in 1980, today he has his very own bible in his local language after all these years without one. He has committed to read every day and catch up for all the years he was without. As an elder in his congregation Yesero now feels equipped to fulfill his duties for his congregation. We are thankful for this act of kindness and pray that Elder Mugasa will use God's Word to win more people to his church.
"Hold fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict."
Titus 1:9
Pastor Asaba Shedrak
Pastor Asaba Shedrak has been on the waiting list for over two years, his church was blessed with 30 bibles, but 150 are still without their own. That is the reality of leading a church in western Uganda. As a pastor you might be one of the very few with a Bible in your whole congregation. This makes equipping the church difficult as Bibles studies are limited, Sunday school lessons are limited and even individual studies are limited. The Word is in short supply in many churches in western Uganda just like Pastor Shedrak's. However, in all this we thank God for the Bibles his church received and for his people.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
2 Timothy 4:2
Astrida
Living in Lusaka, Zambia as a mother of five, Astrida sells bananas to take care of her family. Her routine is nothing but extraordinary and God has blessed through her faith. Every day she wakes up at 3am to pray to the Lord and find discernment. Afterwards she makes sure her kids are taken care of and goes to buy bananas. The Lord through this has shown her favor as every day she sells out of her produce. One day she felt compelled to ask God for a Bible. Through this request a recently donated Bible came to her via another organization called Streetwise, which we supplied with a few English Bibles. Astrida is an example of when God delivers His blessings when we ask for them.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
