Who We Are

In 2012 a group of friends across the United States got together to make a small difference in communities across the world. We came together because we saw that some still lacked access to the Bible 2000 years after the death of Christ.

Our Mission

The mission of Disciples’ Promise is to minister to those with a desire for the Word of God. Disciples’ Promise is a non-profit organization that collaborates with financial and spiritual partners to distribute God's Word internationally where access barriers exist. The primary focus of Disciples’ Promise is to distribute Bibles and Biblical resources to international communities in their preferred language. We serve those who are out of reach of global missions' organizations and Biblical publishers.

Our Vision

To ensure access to a variety of Biblical resources, including but not limited to the Holy Bible, for those who desire it.

Our Team

Christopher McCurdy

Chris is one of the founding members of Disciples' Promise. While in Uganda with Peace Corps in 2011, he noticed that very few people had a Bible of their own. That realization sparked a burning passion for distributing God's Word to believers across Uganda and around the world. That launched a vision that ultimately led to the founding of Disciples' Promise. Now back on this side of the Atlantic, Chris works at Lenovo in North Carolina where he lives with his wife Erin and their two cats.

Erin McCurdy

Erin is the second founding member of Disciples' Promise. In 2011 she was interning with an organization in Uganda. Around the same time that Chris realized the need for Bibles, Erin had a separate experience that drove home the need for God's Word. Her desire to see believers read and understand the Bible in their own local language encouraged her to start Disciples' Promise. Now she lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband Chris and works for HOPE International.

Jackie Kahler

In terms of where to find her, Jackie is our wildcard board member. She thrives off of travel and learning new cultures and we never know where she'll be. She also is big on community and living out God's dream to see people brought together and made whole in the process. She has been a member since 2016 and got involved because she believes that even one bible in the hands of a hungry believer can make a difference.

He serves Disciples' Promise as a spiritual adviser.

Molly joined the Board in 2012 after graduating with a degree in Anthropology and has worked since then as the Secretary. Molly has experienced the impact of the Bible in her life and, as such, greatly appreciates the opportunity to work with Disciples Promise to provide similar impact to others by helping provide access to Bibles and spiritual resources. Molly and her husband, Justin, enjoy playing music, video games, and tossing toys to their two cats at their home in Maryland.
